I'm on a roll!

I have updated my class schedule, at least through September.  Click on each date on the calendar to the right to see dates, times and the stitch to be taught.

To see pictures of each item that can be made for each class, click above on the Michaels at Avon - Class Schedule and Projects tab.  You'll find a picture and the name of each item.

Remember the way it works for the Tuesday and Thursday classes, for each class you learn a stitch and with that stitch you'll learn 2 projects that you can make.

The Sunday Special classes are different. They're for people with some experience with either knit or crochet.  I design those classes around what YOU want to learn after you've mastered the basics.  So they've included Flip Flop Fashions, Tunisian Crochet, Ruffle Scarf, and Dish cloths.  Coming up (again at the suggestion of students) will be Flowers and Doilies.

Also important to remember, I can be very flexible, so if you can't make a specific class but still want to learn that stitch or technique, I can teach you during a different class.  Just let me know!

Thank you all for your continued support and the 4700 views to my blog!

Where do I start.....

Things have been soooo busy for me, today is the first day in 3 weeks that I didn't have anywhere to go.
That doesn't mean I don't have anything to do though!

First, I am no longer with the library. I am now the School Librarian with Andrew Academy, a K-8 charter school on the east-side of Indy.  I'm also teaching Social Studies to the middle school students. (yikes!)  I am very excited about this opportunity and have a lot of things that I'm looking forward to doing!  I'll post pictures of my re-decorating efforts once I finish :)

I believe many of you already know that I've been asked to be a featured artist for Meet the Artist, a big art show sponsored by the Indianapolis Public Library's African American History Committee.  I will have items in a display case along with 2 chairs that I've been asked to yarn bomb.  It's taken a lot of looking but I finally found the chairs I'll be covering!
My title is The colors of OUR lives: Yarn art inspired by the Motherland.

I was given 122 knitted and crocheted squares by a group here in Indy that I was able to make into 4 blankets that will be going to the Riley Hospital for Children.

I'm adding children's crochet classes to the schedule at Michaels in Avon.

If you're interested, the classes will cost $15 and only be 1 1/2 hours long.  Click on the calendar at the right for day and time details  - Saturdays from 2:00-3:30.

I'm still running and am now up to 2 1/2 miles in addition to my Aqua Zumba.  Trying to do both 3 times a week and working hard to get both scheduled in my busy week but I find working out helps me to stay focused. It's also helping with my arthritis pain.

I'm really hoping to be better about updating all of my social media sites.  I have a schedule for everything, now the key is to stick to it! I'm still working part time but now it's just 3 days a week - half a day on Wednesdays and all day Thursdays and Fridays.  I will be returning to volunteering as a Hosts Reading Mentor with a Wayne Township elementary school and am adding a Tuesday afternoon knit/crochet class to my schedule.  Plus there's the Indiana Librarians Leadership Academy that I've been accepted to.  I had a week long conference last month and now our group is working on our project online.  We will get together when we can, like one Sunday later this month.
Busy as a bee, yep that's me!
