Three hats and a cowl!

This hat is for my nephew in TN

This hat is for my son in OH

This hat is for my great nephew in KY

This cowl is for me!

These are the things that I made this week.  I've been very productive with my knitting and crocheting lately.  I'm not sure if it's because I've been making smaller things or because I have so many projects that I want to finish.   Setting deadlines for myself helps too.  The hats were all going out of state so I needed to finish them in time for my "messengers" to deliver them for me.
This week I'm working to complete project samples for my crochet class on Thursday.  Then I plan to make slippers for some family member.  I love making things for my family!  Their heartfelt thanks and seeing them enjoy the fruits of my labor make it all worthwhile.  Thank you guys for being so receptive and letting me make things for you!
Speaking of classes... This week I'll be at the Haughville Library joined by others who knit and or crochet.  We gather to share what we're working on and to enjoy the company of others who like working with yarn.  Thursday I have a crochet class at the Avon Michaels.  The difference between the two is the gatherings at the libraries are free and open to the public.  Both beginners and experienced knitters/crocheters gather and if anyone has questions, I'm available to assist.  The classes at Micheals have a fee.  For those I provide patterns, handouts and basically private lessons.  Click on the calendar to see my upcoming schedule. Either location, I'm able to share my love and knowledge of knitting and crocheting!

Below are pictures of my latest finished projects.  I'll post links to the patterns later.

Next on today's agenda... making oatmeal cookies with my granddaughter!

Thank yous all around!

In the business of the week, I forgot to thank Amadi and Patrick for joining me at the Central Library Tuesday evening to knit.  We had a great time!

Second, thank you to everyone who continues to support my knit and crochet efforts.  Can you believe I've reached over 1000 views to my blog?!

This one deserves a "face -to - face" Thank you!
Thank you all!!!!!!!

Things that make you go hmmmmm

Apparently my tweet was removed from the conference twitter feed so I still have 6 really nice crocheted bookmarks available for anyone who asks. While supplies last!

Blogging, tweeting and knitting, oh my!

The project I decided to work on today in between sessions. I'll post another pic when I finish this cowl.

I'm at a library conference this week. Missing my kiddos and Story time but gaining lots of new knowledge and knitting in between sessions :-)

It's funny how technology has changed us/things.  We were encouraged to tweet during the conference sessions.  One presenter even had things posted within her PowerPoint presentation that she wanted us to tweet!

I got this bright idea to have a giveaway so tomorrow I'll tweet that I have something for those who come to me and acknowledge that they read my tweet.  I'm planning to knit or crochet some bookmarks.  I'll also give them my knit/crochet business card with my blog and Facebook info, I have become quite the marketer!

And yes, I did get some librarian info today too  ;)

Ok, now to get busy making these bookmarks to giveaway tomorrow!  I'll take pics of that too.

Looking for a way to use your leftover yarn?

Knit or crochet sections using the pattern of your choice.

It's a great way to practice different stitches.

Some of the 7 x 9 inch sections that were collected at the Avon Michaels store today.

It didn't take long for me to crochet them together into strips.

Click on the Warm Up America tab to get details on how you can take part in this worthwhile effort.  The sections that I collect will be made into blankets that will be donated to Riley  Hospital for Children and University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Completed 36 x 42 inch lap afghan

I have a favor to ask...

While I truly truly appreciate all of the support and visits that I'm getting here on my blog, did you know that I also have a Facebook page?

It has pretty much the same information you find here on the blog and it also has information from other knit and crochet related Facebook pages.

If you're also on Facebook, please consider visiting my page there and "liking" me.

Thank you!

As promised...

I have now added a 2nd opportunity for FREE knitting and/or crocheting lessons!

The 2nd Tuesday of the month I will be at the Central Library (40 E. St. Clair St, Indpls.)

This is very similar to what I do on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Haughville Library.
Knitters and crocheters gather for a good time and share their latest projects.  I will be available to provide lessons for anyone who is interested.

If you have questions about the supplies that you'll need to bring, contact me.

The difference between these and the classes that I teach at Michaels is I don't provide handouts, project instructions or teach anything specific.  The classes at Michaels are for a fee, and most times end up being private lessons.  We still laugh and have a good time!

For more information, check the calendar to the right. Each class that I teach is listed along with the details.
