Thank you!

I truly appreciate all the support that I have received so far in this new venture of mine!

I have added 2 new pages - Knit Helpful Hints and Crochet Helpful Hints.  Both pages will list information that I hope will be useful to you.  I just finished listing the different types of knitting needles and crochet hooks.  Next, I'll add information about yarn.

Remember that I'm also on
Facebook.com/UntangledStitcher
Twitter.com@UntangledStitch as well as Ravelry, Craftsy, Etsy, Pinterest and Tumblr.

Tomorrow is the day!

Tuesday, during our Yarn and Needle Night I plan to "unveil" my new web ventures to my friends at the library.  They don't know it yet, but I also plan to bring donuts from Longs to help us to celebrate. : )

Just my way of showing them my appreciation for their support as I've talked about this over the past few months.  It started as an idea and is now coming to life.  Today I met with my graphic design artist friend Melissa who is going to design my logo.  She'll be getting some knit/crochet wear in return.  This is great for both of us - more people should barter! Who knew that she already had a "wish list" for me.

Thursday an even bigger announcement will go out on my personal Facebook page letting everyone else know about my latest ventures.  I'll also send emails to those who are not on FB.

I'd just like to add that I'm so proud of how my blog and Facebook page have turned out, I hope that you all enjoy it too!!!

Yarn I got today with my gift card to make hats for myself, now to find the time to make them!

Nooooo!!!!!

Don't you  just hate when you think you have enough yarn for a project only to find out that you don't?  I'm working on a cocoon for a pregnant friend that I wanted to give to her on Monday.  I'd planned on staying home all day today (a rare occurrence for me) so I'll go tomorrow to get more yarn. With my fingers crossed the whole time that they have at least one more skein of the color - I only have 7 inches left to crochet.  Then I'll take it to her on Tuesday. Which will create a new dilemma, what to do with the "left over" yarn.  Maybe booties?
I guess that means I'll work on something else today. Hmmm... maybe it would be a good idea to do the stitch samples for my Michaels story board that I want to have finished for Wednesday's demo.

This evening's crochet class

This evening in our Baby crochet class we had a good time.  So good that we didn't realize we'd gone over the scheduled time!  Thanks to Nickie and Rachel  for coming out this evening  : )

Tonight we worked on Hooded Baby Blankets and Daisy Ring Rattles.
This is my blanket so far

These are the pats for the daisy ring rattle.

Daisy Ring Rattle Toy This is what the completed rattle will look like.

Maybe next week I can get the ladies to agree to let me take pictures of them to post.  Check the calendar to see when and where I'll be teaching close to you.

Really? I get to make something for me?!

I was recently given  a gift card in honor of completing my CYC certification and have decided to buy something for myself.  It will more than likely be yarn, now the question is what do I want to make?  I'm thinking since this will be my first winter with short hair in a long time that a hat (or two) would be a good choice.  It should be fun to shop for myself for a change!

It's not like I don't already have enough to do!

Today I agreed to start teaching knit and crochet at a second Michaels store.  I'm excited and at the same time wondering how I'm going to find time for everything that needs to be done.  As long as I stay organized and prepared, I should be ok.  Like now, I should be crocheting the items for my class tomorrow, but I need to get in the habit of blogging on a regular basis.  One of these days someone other than me will be reading these and there needs to be something here to read ;)

Here we go!

Ok, I guess I'm ready to start!
My hope for this blog is to have a place to share my love for knit and crochet.  My calendar will list my upcoming classes both at Michaels and the ones that I offer for free.  Feel free to ask questions, share successes and even offer suggestions.

As with most things in life, there is no right or wrong way as long as it works for you!
